I know – I’ve been gone for a month – sorry been busy!
I took a planning break, because I’d gotten so much done that there was nothing left to do – well NOW….OMG I’m going to flip out!
1. We skiped the linens for the reception and used that money for a videographer after hearing a million times that it’s the one thing that people regreated not doing, and after seeing several peoples videos.
WELL – I did this thinking "Oh the reception hall has linenes I can use for free, I remember her telling me that" Well um…no – only table cloths. SO I STILL have get linens because the chais are too ugly NOT to cover up as well as the tables. So I’m still disking out another $1300.
2. The invites I was going to hand make are just not going to work anymore so I’m finding elsewhere to buy the materials. After hearing and trying stardream, which is the paper I was going to use for the majority of the invite – is impossible to print on. ANd no where around here will do it. So now those are going to cost more….
This means I have to give something up – like my favor and I’m really not wanting to do that because I really wanted them….but I guess I’ll have to.
OMG I’m a mess right now! The weddings not til August but still….
I just need a major stress reliever….oh byut that won’t happen the sinus issue I’ve got going is making all the wose then I’m sure it is.
Sorry for being a freak and flipping out…my FH just doens’t quite understand sometimes.

Sorry everything is going wrong! That must be so hard! However, just breathe. You still have a lot of time!!!

This is what you should do. Take a deep breath – I am a Certified Wedding Planner and I have dealt with a lot of people like you. What I need you to do is send me a direct email and I will give you some real good advice.
The worst thing you can do is get stressed – you will wind up spending more and forgetting more
Once I get your email I will send you a timeline planner – have to ensure that is done and the time it should be done by. And, trust me – all my Brides love that – they say it is a huge hit.

Your wedding is not until August–why are you freaking out about the invitations now? Put the paper away, take a deep breath, and tell yourself you are not going to think about them for another three months. By then you may well have saved the money somewhere else.
You don’t need to order the favors for months! If you need to cancel the videographer, you still have time. Sure, you’ll lose the deposit, but that would be less than spending the whole on him.
There’s plenty of time to find ways to save up extra money. Everything does not need to be taken care of and paid for this minute!

Sweeny, yes, you CAN print on Stardream paper!! I used Stardream and printed tons of items using my Canon inkjet photo printer! It can be done =) Don’t stress out, you have plenty of time!

No worries! I’m sure with your sinus issues and the holidays, you’re probaby feeling more stressed than usual. (I have a sinus infection too, so I feel your pain!).
Now… if linens and invitations are more important than a videographer, I suggest you cancel your videographer. Also, if you have a fantastic photographer, and a friend with a videocamera, you can use that money for your linens.
And it looks like your stardream issues have been resolved.

I just printed on Stardream envelopes yesterday. First the front side, then the back, so they went through my printer TWICE. Nothing is smeared at all! I have a HP Laserjet, if that helps. =)

My venue has ugly chairs and offers chair covers for $6 a chair. I think that’s way too expensive, considering you can buy them for $7. Plus, I really hate the way chair covers look. But instead of spending the money to cover them with linens, I think I’m going to try to do one of these crafts that I found on a craft store website:

OMG I can’t believe I’m compaining about linen costs when you are being charged $6 a chair! Ugh! Mine are only between $1.95 – $3.00 depending on the type.
I’m going to check out that link you posted though – thanks SO much!!!

I was just a papersource yesterday and they said that the shimmery papers (stardream included) wouldnt’ work on my printer but Kinkos does have a printer that will work.
Favors can be done very cheaply so I don’t think you should stress there….
We’re doing Lindt ball truffles. You can buy them cheap in bulk.
$20/a box of 60.
To save money our videographer isn’t editing the tape. (We’re having a friend do that but even if we didnt…) A lot of the edited versions I’ve seen are pretty corney. See if you can change your contract and just get the raw footage. With that in hand you can always have it edited later when you dont’ have all the expenses…
Hope this helps at all and YES RELAX! August is a long way away still. :o)
