What about just going for classic elegant, if you’re worried that your dress won’t match a more vintage theme?

I just looked up Fota Gardens and it is gorgeous!!! Would you mind sharing photos or the name of your venue for the wedding? It might help in guiding you to a theme that would work best.

…Side Note: visited Cork in 2003 to kiss the Blarney Stone. Goregous area!!!

Think about the season- would you pull fall colors into the mix? Also, think about the setting, maybe rich jewel tones might work? A neutral palette always works with pops of color- cream linens with pale pink flowers, hints of silver or gray and an accent color. Also take into account the story of you and your future husband- what is your story? Are there elements of the both of you that you can somehow pull into your wedding decor? I always think its important to make a wedding personal as opposed to “I’m making my colors this” because after all, you are celebrating YOUR union.

I think there is all this pressure to pick a theme or style for a wedding, but I’ve never attended a wedding, or heard from anyone who attended a wedding, “Wow, what was their theme?” or “It was nice, but I didn’t get a cohesive feel for the wedding brand.” It’s all about what you like or think is pretty.

That said, it’s hard to narrow down when there are so many choices. Pinterest helped me a lot. You could start off pinning pics of your venue and dress and then just randomly add stuff that speaks to you: flowers, Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, decor, invitations, etc. I just started by pinning pictures that I thought were pretty and then noticed I gravitated toward a certain look. After that, I started deleting pins that didn’t fit as well and started searching blogs and google for specific pictures in the style I was leaning toward.

If you need a pinterest invite, PM your email address and I’ll send you one.
