not sure how to do this on a pc, but you should be able to hook up an ethernet cable connecting both computers, set up a network and drag and drop files where they need to be.

Spaniel you might not be able to load Windows 7 and word on there.  A lot of netbooks have very little RAM and memory.  I would look into the specs on it to make sure that it can support the operating system first.

Can you download them off the internet?  Unless you already bought the software, and just need to transfer it onto the netbook, downloading it off the internet will probably be the easiest/fastest way to go.

Did you recently purchase Microsoft 7 and Word?

I have no experience with netbook, but I downloaded both online.  I just submitted my order number onto Microsoft’s help desk with an inquiry and they sent me a link to download from the website instead of using the disc.

Hope that helps!

You can try the flash drive, or my FH and I love http://www.dropbox.com.  It’s a file sharing program, you upload them from one computer, then can download them onto any other computer.  I think the first 50 gigs are free, but to have a year subscription isn’t much.  As far as Windows 7, you might be able to download from the Windows website, even if you already own it, sometimes there’s an option to put in a registration code.

You may also be able to take it into a computer store (surely Windows machines have some equivalent of the Genius Bar) and ask them to hook it up to an external CD drive for you, just to load the software on. Probably a nominal fee, but it should be cheaper than buying an external drive. 🙂

That’s good that it has enough memory!  I have seen a lot of them that don’t really have very much or don’t have much RAM so you can’t run 2 programs at once.  Wish it had a disk drive though!

what are you running now? On a netbook I would use google docs, that way they are always accesable and you save space. I think google has a new os that you could try to download probably for free, if you cant make them work.
