Do you have a Kindle?  I discovered a series I love with a great woman protagonist.  The first book is called Emperor’s Edge, by Lindsey Buroker, and it is a free ebook.

Have you read the new Sophie Kinsella book? I feel like her books are the epitome of beach reads. The newest one is called “I’ve Got Your Number” and it was a quick, fun little read.

SO i read ALOT… but some of my favorite summer reads are light and funny ones!

Janet Evanovich- any of her books.. but I love her Stephanie Plum series

Mary Higgens Clark

James Patterson- once again any of his books, but his Women’s Murder Club is awesome!

Charlaine Harris- Sookie Stackhouse novels (Southern Vampire) what the show True Blood is loosly based on

What types of books do you like?? maybe I can steer you to some more specific books…

Emily Giffin –

1) Something Borrowed

2) Something Blue

Something Borrowed was turned into a movie with Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin

I second the Sookie Stackhouse novels. They are my top-choice easy summer reads.

OK.. yea my suggestions are more murder mystery esque… I recently read two books that were cheap on kindle under 5.

The Siren by Kiera Cass and Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George

Not sure if they’re still cheap but they were good reads!

Also before I forget. Janet Evanovich wrote a bunch of cheeky romance novels before she wrote her stephanie plum novels. Because they’re older they tend to be cheaper

The Chelsea Handler books are hilarious!! and very easy reads, and make for some great laughs too!

I just finished The Help and Water for Elephants, both of which were really good too. Both books were MUCH better than the movies.

Have fun on vacation!!

@twodoghouse:  I love Sophie Kinsella books!  Didn’t know she had a new one out so have just reserved it online at the local library 🙂

@Rose120:  I would also recommend Maeve Binchy, Marian Keyes, Cathy Kelly – all very easy reads, that you don’t have to think too much about and can stop and start easily.

For easy reads, authors like Maeve Binchy, Amy Tan? I’m drawing a blank on other vacation kind of books I’ve read but both of those authors have a number of books, easy to get into and they’re usually pretty long so you’ll get at least a day out of them :p
