I HAVE to drink with my meal. I drink a alot as well. prob like 2-3 gallons a day. When I go out though, I always make sure whatever i drink (usually lemonade, or iced tea) is free refills or I would end up spending more on drinks that the actual meal!

@Ryansgirl: There’s been a bit of that I’m hearing as well. The whole not getting drinks with meals as a kid angle. It throws a new twist on it.
I’m pretty sure Fiance was given drinks with dinner as a kid, although it’s not something I have asked. Maybe I should. Hmmmm…

I am never without my waterbottle- even in church (some people bring coffee, I bring water). Despite having a sensetive stomach that hates anything new- including water- I usually go through 2-4 24 fl oz bottles a day. I blame it on BC making me dehydrated but it’s more likely from years of marching band and having to constantly drink so I can make a sound and not pass out (during reherseal I usually have 2-3 waterbottles between my hip pouch and my carry-all.)
Needless to say, I drink throughout dinner.

My mouth gets too dry without having some water handy, so I will usually down a glass full during dinner. 🙂
@finnaroo: lol I’m the same!

I always drink throughout a meal. Ive never understood how people can go an entire meal without having a drink – dont they get thirsty and want something to wash their food down with?! We went to dinner last night and I had 2 beers and 3/4 glass of water in about an hour!

I actually can go pretty much an entire meal without drinking anything. Except when we are having spicy food.
If we are having some kind of noodle soup I have no beverage at all. I have the soup! My husband thinks that’s weird! 😉
Hm. Interesting though when I go out to eat I almost always drink 2-3 glasses of water or sweet tea.

It usually depends on what I’m eating. If I’m eating something spicy I have to be taking sips of something in between. But if it’s pasta or something like that I’m fine to not drink. I do put a lot of hot sauce on my food usually though so I tend to fall more on the drink while eating.

I love everyone’s quirky drinking/eating habits!

I take sips throughout. Especially if my drink is an alcoholic beverage and my food is spicy.
Also, at restaurants I’m known to go through 5-7 glasses of water at a meal. Because instead of sipping my water, I will down a whole glass at a time.

@KatNYC2011: That’s a whole lotta’ water!

I can’t eat something without a drink! I have to drink something with food. Darling Husband will get around to noticing there’s a drink after he eats but won’t take more than a few sips, I usually drink his water too!

I tend to take drinks or sips throughout the meal but my Boyfriend or Best Friend is the same way and will eat 90% of the food on his plate before taking drink. I always wonder how in the world he does that. I get way too thirsty when eating.

I’m pretty much the thirstiest person in the world, and there’s NO way I could go through an entire meal without drinking something!

I used to easily be able to go a whole meal without drinking, but not really on purpose that just was my habit. But, in the past few years I’ve tried to be really good about getting my 8 cups of water per day, and I find it VERY hard to drink when I’m not eating or have just eaten… which means I generally make an effort to drink 2 full glasses (4 cups) of water with my dinner.

My Fiance is the same way! I can’t understand how he can go through a whole meal without a sip! He also eats one thing at a time (ie: eats all of the meat, then potatoes, then veggies -not necessairly in that order-) Wierd, if you ask me! I like a little variety when I eat. lol
