I love it!  It shows you put thought into the gift.  True sign of a good friend/cousin is when you have can have an inside joke.  As long as she agrees it’s funny, and it’s not something that she wishes everyone else would just let pass (pun intended).  I had my cake cutter engraved with “I love you like a fat kid loves cake”  It’s good to incorporate some humor in the day.

@julies1949: i really like this idea too!! for the same reason…..im on the fence about havin’ an inside joke engraved on a gift, esp something thats a gift for officiating….but having just the initials kinda makes it just about the inside joke between you two….that way, anyone that does happen to see it, she can decide for herself if she wants to let them in on it, or simply state “its an inside joke”…..

Sorry to be a downer, but I’m not a huge fan. Especially with jewellery, I’d rather have someone pick out jewellery that suits me rather than get something okay and then try to personalize it with an inside joke.

A gold bangle is something that is passed down (since it is precious metal). I’d maybe think more about what her kids, and their kids would think of the inside joke they aren’t privvy to?

Could you just engrave “…not cute nor funny” and she’d know what you meant?  That way the word fart isn’t actually in there ๐Ÿ™‚  If that’s what you’re worried about!

I would totally engrave the whole thing.  It’s hilarious.  Know why?  because farts are funny, hahaha

Anyway I wouldn’t put it on a t-shirt in huge text because who would wear that, but inside a gold bangle.  She’ll probably want to wear it more often ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’d do it. As for inexpensive bangles? I’m not really sure. You could try Etsy, or Things Remembered… other than that, I’m not sure where else to look.

I would do it if you think she would like it and she would instantly know what it means, but I have one reservation – would the other cousin (from the tent) take offense or feel sensitive if she knew? Inside jokes are fun, but I don’t think it’s too cool to engrave something permanently that might hurt someone else’s feelings.

The first letter idea is cute but you’re right, it would require some explaining. I would do the whole phrase…in a really fancy script so it looks extra classy ๐Ÿ˜‰

if you’re worried about being crude – maybe say ‘whats not cute or funny’ or something else like that.  That way its even more of an inside joke and not rude.
