I’m sure a dozen similar posts have been written on this exact same topic, but instead of searching, decided to create my own.
Our deadine is on the 28th and we’ve heard from less then 100 guests out of the 295 invited. They still have a week and a half, so I’m not worried or stressed about it. I’ve been preparing myself to make phone calls and sending messages to our guests.
So, out of curiosity, how many guests did you have to “hound” after the deadline for an RSVP? How long after the deadline did you start to get a hold of people?

We just passed our RSVP deadline (the 12th), and are just starting to call people (several people clearly mailed them on the 12th, so we gave it a few extra days).
I’d say that we are going to have to call around 30%. Another 10-15% didn’t mail in their cards, but did RSVP via telephone or in person.

@snapnatural: I’m really glad we decided to get people to RSVP by email or phone. Did not want to spend more money on paper and stamps that people would leave on the table and forget about. We’ll probably give up people the weekend to get a hold of us, but I’m thinking of starting to get a hold of people that Monday (Nov 1) since there’s no excuse of them being in the mail, etc.

My RSVP deadline is this Saturday (22nd) and we are only missing 8 out of 49 invites sent. Total of 120 ppl invited and 85 have accepted via rsvp card or verbally.

One week left and still waiting for over half!! Anyone else have guests wait ’til the last minute?? Yikes.

Ours was an online RSVP which almost everyone did the first week (probably because it was convenient) We got word of mouth RSVPs from a few people, but we knew everyones status for the most part before the deadline.

I thought we would get a lot of rsvp’s at the last minute or in the week following but we only got maybe 1 or 2 in the mail. I was completely shocked at the number of people ( family) that didn’t respond. We had to call these people numerous times to get an answer and we still have a few that have still not responded. RUDE!!!

After the mail came on the day they were due we started calling and emailing. The process was a little easier than I had expected but we did have a good portion of people to contact. It is kind of annoying but hey, what can ya do?
