Hi fitness bees!
Has anyone tried the Tracy Anderson dvd’s or Metamorphosis program? One part of me thinks the dance cardio looks insanely difficult and the muscular structure “nothing over 3lbs” seems like bunk compared to the exercise physiology information that is generally accepted.
BUT…..I can’t help but be intrigued by the “dancer’s body” hype.
So, what does everyone think?

@cdncinnamongirl: I ordered the Tracy Anderson metamorphosis DVD’s and let me tell you…don’t waste your money. It is extremely expensive now that I look back on the purchase. There are other programs that are much easier to follow that aren’t so expensive. The dance cardio that she wants you to do is virtually impossible. I am active, I love cardio and I have taken many dance classes and the dance cardio dvd is extremely hard to follow and very frustrating. Even if you do manage to grasp some of the moves, all of the jumping around is very bad for your joints and is probably one of the reasons I now have a knee injury that prevents me from exercising. Another drawback is the fact that she wants you to do muscle exercises every day. This is not how you should work out your muscles. There should be a day of rest in between strength exercises in order to allow the muscle to recover and not get injured. I do continue to use the muscle dvds from time to time since I feel so bad about purchasing something and never using it but if I could go back, I would not have purchased the program.
The only positives are the ab exercises and butt/leg exercises. I really feel the burn from those and have seen some results. If possible, I would purchase the dvds she sells that only concentrate on those areas and then find an alternative to your cardio routine.
Hope this helps!

@Taina: Thanks, this does help! After reading many reviews/blogs etc, I decided against these DVDs. I think the idea that she sells of a “teeny tiny dancer’s body” is a powerful hook, but there are several major flaws in her system. As you say, the dance is super hard to nail down. I bought Turbo Fire instead and am loving it so far!

@cdncinnamongirl: Good for you! I’ve heard from many friends that TurboFire is great. Let me know how it works out for you
Once I get the ok from my doctor that I can work out again because of my knee, I plan on trying the brazilian butt lift dvds. Yet another one that looks so tempting to buy!
