I am the least traditional person ever and still find the Voluntary to be totally lovely. Tune bores me a little.

Voluntary is more common but there’s a few other options you should try.

    Air (Water Music) by Handel

    Arioso by Bach

Zadok the Priest by Handel (I want to use this but my aisle is too small for this, but it gives you plenty of drama)

Jupiter by Holst (not a common processional song but I’m picking it for my own wedding)

I am totally untraditional when it comes to wedding music but on the flip side of that I am totally a traditional Catholic hymn person.

So our entrance music for the bridal party will be Love Devine, All Loves Excelling

    http://youtu.be/cJ-fUaa7bpg

My entrance will be Trumpet Rondeau by Mouret

    http://youtu.be/dVUJjPzRb2U

Our recessional will be Go To The World

    http://youtu.be/uD5dv4VD4HU

none of these hymns (the Rondeau is not a hymn) will be sung but rather played joyfully.

Our bridal party is walking into canon d and I am walking into trumpet voluntary … very traditional BUT sounds great.  We hired a trumpet player to play with the organist for the ceremony.  Totally worth the extra money … sounds great inside the church.

Also Catholic and we’re going with some wildlly untraditional entrance music, that, so far, they haven’t said no to, lol.

But, there isn’t a right or wrong.  Pick the one you like.  Try going on youtube and searching wedding entrances.  Pick what’s going to make you happy.  And if you really don’t care, let someone else just pick for you and worry about some things you do care about.
