two days ago, there was a huge accident at the intersection by our neighborhood.
a 13 year old and his 8 year old brother were in a 4-wheeler crossing the 2 lane street…. and a 17 year old in a mustang hit them.
the 13 year old was wearing a helmet, but the lil 8 year old was not and had to be airlifted to the children’s hospital.
we found out last night that he didn’t survive…
the mother of the 13 and 8 year old is already bed-ridden with cancer.
and now the 13 year old and 17year old in the mustang have to live with this for the rest of their lives.
just makes me appreciate the small things and thank God that all of my loved ones are healthy and alive today.

Oh, I just heard about that last night! Apparently a friend of ours goes to church with the 8 year olds family and told us all about it after it happened. We were both upset to hear that the 8 year old had died. That poor family, I hope they’re doing alright.

I just got teary-eyed reading this! That’s so sad!!!! 🙁 What a horrible thing for that family to deal with in the midst of other medical issues!
Did the kids just jump out in front of the 17 yr old or was he not paying attention? I don’t know the details, but young drivers scare the crap out of me.

@okqueenbee, yea i totally got the chills and had to sit down when Fiance told me the story. it’s really sad, i guess it was the 13 year old who shouldn’t have been crossing and jumped out abruptly in front of the 17 year old…
regardless, i can’t even imagine with those kids will have to deal with for the rest of their lives… and the poor young boy. :'( may he r.i.p.

Omg, that’s so horrible. I’m seriously sad, like could cry if I wasn’t at work. I see some horrible things in my profession and it never gets easier to here tragic stories like that. I hope their families can find some peace.

That’s so sad.
About a year ago there was a measure that some residents in my hometown (~3000 people in the entire town) tried to pass allowing golf carts to be driven on the roads in town. I was glad when it wasn’t passed because this is the exact sort of tragedy that I would worry about.

That’s so sad. I’ll keep both families in my prayers.
