- Wedding: December 2013
Alrighty bees I need some more insight!
Wedding is in MN on New Year’s Eve! Obviously, we want people to drink and have a great time!
The venue is in a smaller town and right smack dab between two major cities about a half hour in each direction, meaning there are no transportation services in the immediate area, but it’s not out of the question to get it either, just harder.
The hotels including the one where there will be a hotel block, are about a mile and a half away from the venue, and all are kind of in a circle, so very close to one another. It’s too far away for people to walk though…
So I’ve been trying to think if it would be a good idea to provide transportation from the venue to the hotels? I’m just not sure how I would swing that…plus cost is a factor too. That, and if I did this, would I have to provide the shuttle from the hotels to the reception as well? So people wouldn’t have to drive and leave their cars at the venue? Cause then how would they get to their cars in the morning? I’m just confused on how it would all work. That would be a lot of hours to pay a service, and it wouldn’t even be used during the reception time until after! I mean, it is NYE, so I imagine if people are leaving early they probably aren’t drinking, and if they are drinking they are staying the whole night! The taxis services are based in those two bigger cities so I feel like those are too far away to utilize, especially on a busy night.
Help! Any good ideas? Should I just skip it? We have pretty responsible family and friends so I don’t worry about them drinking and driving, but i’d love for it to be easy for them so they don’t worry about how much they consume and transportation issues!
