Its not too far of a drive, the school bus should be fine. guests can drive themselves if they wish, drive there & bus back after theyve been drinking… or maybe the hotel has a shuttle option?

Maybe renting multiple vans and hiring drivers? I just did a quick google search and there are vans that hold 12-15 people. This would increase the # of drivers you’re paying, but I would assume it wouldn’t be that expensive overall. You could probably hire them only for the hour in the afternoon, and then maybe a couple hours in the evening to do trips back and forth. They could do trips every half hour, so whoever wanted to leave early could.

Guests might not mind the heat if the transport is free. 15m in the heat vs having to pay for a taxi

Honestly, they can deal with a bit of heat for 15 minutes– late afternoon won’t be terrible. I think you’re doing a lot by offering transportation in the first place!

should be fine for a short ride with the windows down … it is an area with a lot of traffic? unless they will be at a standstill usually the breeze from driving is enough when you are in the car

guests have been driving themselves to receptions for years with great success.  I don’t think you need a bus at all, but if you want one, it’ll be fine for 15 minutes.  The number of guests is small enough that people wouldn’t even have to share seats so it’s not likely to get that hot.  Personally though, if I were given the option between a bouncy school bus and my own car, I’d pick my car.  Actually I’d pick my car no matter what – I want the choice of when I leave, I don’t want to wait around for a shuttle.

I think the bus will be fine!  We hired a nice shuttle and the AC was busted, so…..

Can you get a hotel shuttle?  Are many people going to drive themselves?

FWIW, I went to a very, very fancy wedding recently and it was HOT out.  They had open air trolleys with no AC — no one noticed, because the couple stocked each trolley with a cooler filled with beer, wine, water, and sodas for the ride between the church and the reception (which was only a few miles, but took 45+ minutes because of beach traffic).

Where is the wedding and how hot do you expect it to be?

If it is gonna be 100 degrees out then I’d rather drive in AC than ride through the heat.

I would prob find a better solution or simply have guests drive themselves/take cab.

I’m going to disagree with others and say you need the A/C. I’m a girl with lots of HAIR. And Since it’s a wedding, I’ve gotten fancy and done my hair (which takes a while). Sitting in a bus with open windows is going to ruin a hair do in an instant.
