- Wedding: September 2013
I’m hoping for a little guidance when it comes to the transportation thing. All I need is a way to get 4 girls, myself, two moms and a photog from point A (friend’s house) to point B (ceremony/reception), which are all of 5 minutes away from each other. I guess all while growing up, everyone seemed to use a limo for weddings, so I assumed I would.
Then it went to show how little I know about limos, especially if you use the word “wedding”. $500-ish, 3.5 hour minimum, stocked with booze and a TV and such (so do not need the amenities). I guess this option works for people who have a separate ceremony and reception space and they are essentially paying the driver to wait for them, but still, it kinda seems like a racket. All I need is something on wheels with a motor with lots of room for people with long dresses, and one person with a kind of big dress. Photos on my friend’s roof are being taken along with “getting ready” photos, so changing into the dress at the venue is out- I don’t think there will be enough time logistically, given when the photog is showing up, to take the photos, get out of the dress, get back in the dress.
I’m wondering if we just deal and squeeze into a few cars from a car service and pray the floors are clean. I feel like a van would be hard to hop in and out of. I feel bad not giving my friends the 5 star treatment to get to the venue, but I don’t have that much for transportation in the budget. Or should I rent some sort of shuttle bus and ride standing? Ha! But seriously, I have no idea what to do, and the Google is only giving me limo companies that clearly got their way pushed to the top of the search engine.
Anyone have this experience, and how did you manage the situation? Thanks!
