Unfortunately Dallas does not have great public transportation so I wanted to see how most people handled out of town guests. Did you provide them maps and say "rent a car", did the hotel you had guests stay at transport them (and if so which ones) or did you rent buses? Our wedding and reception will be at Fair Park, but we have other events through the weekend and don’t want to pay and arm and a leg on porting everyone around, yet, don’t want people to drink and drive.

We’re doing maps and rent-a-car. With the 3 day weekend deals that Enterprise offers, it might actually be more expensive for them to take a cab in from the airport than to just get a car of their own. I also think Dallas is a pretty easy city to drive in, with its grid system and lack of lots of one-way streets.
As far as the wedding itself, we’re going to rent a shuttle for a few hours to ferry people back and forth from the hotel to the site. I think it’ll run about $100 an hour. For the rest of the events, I’d say people are on their own. Are there local people coming who could help out-of-towners carpool?
