I think you need to find out how much the limo would cost, and then decide if that’s something you want to spend money on.  I think it’s pretty common for people to get limos for wedding party transporatation (It’s not something I’d want to spend money on, however)

I’m sure I’ll ride with family to the venue (our reception/ceremony are in the same place).  We are paying to provide transportation to and from the hotel to the venue for our guests because I don’t want anyone drinking and driving (and almost all of our drinking guests will be Out of Town

It all depends on the logistics in your particular case.  I was recently a Bridesmaid or Best Man in a wedding where the bride asked us all to meet at her house ahead of time for pictures, and then we all got in a limo to ride to the church.  That worked out pretty well, because she was able to make sure everyone was there on time.  🙂  In my case, I plan to just ride over with my parents.  I have a limo booked to take us from the church to the reception site, but I didn’t want to pay extra to have him drive us to the church and then sit around for a couple hours until the ceremony finishes.

I booked a party bus with JJ’s/Hot Rayz Limos (same company now).  We had them pick us up at my house and then take us to the church and then to the reception.

They have a minimum of 3 hours and add 20% gratuity to the bill.  They also have discounted rates for weddings since they are during the day.  For example we only used the limo/bus from 1:30-5 and they were able to do another party later that evening.

Our bus (seating 14 comfortably) was $630.

The other advantage to the bus was that we had stairs to step up (much easier in a dress) and you could stand inside the limo and move around some.

I’m having my bridal party ride and dad ride with me to the church. I think my dad would make me cry too much before I actually got to the church where the girls can make it fun and exciting! Plus this was they don’t have to drive to the reception site solo. I’d hate for one of them to get lost in transit 🙂

@caszos That’s such a great point about the party bus! Especially since it has the stairs and may save some $$$. Thanks for the tip!!! P.S. Love the photo of your pup!
