I have absolutely zero emotinal attachment to my wedding dress. It’s a bunch of pretty white fabric with some sparkly beads that made me feel beautiful for a day.
My wonderful Darling Husband had a great idea recently. We booked our honeymoon on a heavy metal cruise. He said that I should wear the dress for a day on the cruise ship, and go into the moshpit! I think it will be fun, a great way to meet people and I will be able to get photos in my dress with a bunch of random metalheads, and possibly some of our favorite bands!
I’m really excited about the idea… except for telling my mom. She paid for the dress, and she definately holds attachment to such things. My high school grad dress is still hanging in my old bedroom closet, untouched for 12 years, and she flipped out when I told her I wanted to use it for a halloween costume 2 years following my grad. She wouldn’t allow me to take it when I left home. (this was a $300 dress compared to my $1,100 wedding dress).
My wedding dress is sitting in my closet right now, and she hasn’t mentioned anything about taking it back, so do I keep mum (mom) about it, or do I tell her my intentions?
For the record, I plan on removing the crinoline and having it hemmed, so it doesn’t take up so much room in my suitcase!
