We’ve offically started. We’re saving for italy!! We want to use a travel agent, as you can pay per month until 45 days before hand. Does that include airfare? I know it’s a surcharge- but I like the idea more then saving and worrying if airfare is going to be available.

Whether or not your package and pay-over-time includes airfare really depends on the package and the travel agent; I would, however, caution you against locking in your airfare price too far in advance, as prices tend to start quite high when schedules are first loaded, then decline significantly before going back up. Unless you’re booking during a special event (Glasgow’s Tattoo or Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival for example), you’re often better off waiting till about 90-120 days before an International flight to book. Of course monitor prices and book if you see something good, but booking now for 2014 travel is almost certain to cost you more in the long run.

@fishbone: Thanks for the info! We’re planning on taking a Carnival cruise in Italy, but they’re not even booking for 2014 yet. That will give us a TON of time to save for airfare.
My uncle said he’s going to gift us $1200 for the wedding, so we’re using this to pay for the crusie!
