Well I contacted an egent in my area, hopeing to get some help and some info and all she really did was send me all these web sites – leaving me to fill out page after page if I wanted information from these places. No prices up front, no nothing.
So I enlisted my sister in law ans she said to call another place in our sttae thats more of a "chain" better known and very helpful. So I do.
I get a laundry list of options from the atomated operator on where to direct my call…frustrated I pick the first word that sounded anything like something we may want, "all-inclusive"
When the girl answer I very spceifically explain to her what I need, and asked if this was what travel agents do (as I’ve never worked with one before) and if she could help. Here’s basically what I told her I needed:
I need to be able to to give you our budget, the types of things and amenities we are looking for. As location isn’t that big of a deal as long as the few requirements we have are met and we’ve never really traveled other then to Europe to see family – I need the help of someone who knows their stuff to make the suggestions.
From her I got this "Yeeeaaaaaa?" sound of annoance every questions I asked or anything like that. Then she proceeds to talk to ehrself while checking prices of things on her computer and I have to butt in after 5 minutes and say, "You know I don’t need this infor right now, could I call you back? Give you some time to complie some information for us?"
"Yeeeeeaaaaa I’m just lookuing something up" and goes right back
Do travel agents do what I am requestiong or am I getting this absurd threatment because I’m asking for something over the top? Why on God’s earth do I want to look at stuff, and not know prices!? Grrrr!!!
