I’m paying a separate travel fee for makeup (£5) and flowers (£40, including setup), whereas the cake baker has incorporated it in to the overall quote (it’s £20, but she just sent an invoice for the total amount). None of my vendors are travelling more than an hour, more like 30 minutes.

Don’t look at it as a separate fee but part of the cost, I’d rather pay just for travel to my wedding, than pay for a share of everyone’s travel to their wedding by their base fee being more expensive.

Depends what the fee is I guess. I’ve seen ppl put anything more than 30 min travel will be charged for gas or time.. so if he charged you for 10 min each way plus gas I’d be like.. k whatever.

If he is charging you for a hotel stay or some flat $200+ fee I’d look in to another photographer…

Depending on where you are probably. Where I am, 40 mins is typical to travel just around town not even to a different city. Most wedding service providers I’ve seen including photographer and MUA are not looking to charge a travel feel for that kind of travel time, it was certainly easy enough to find photographers who won’t charge for travel if you’re in surrounding cities (about 1-2hour drive per way).

Traffic around honolulu can be insane so this might be why they have the fee.

This is pretty standard

That’s pretty standard. I’m a photographer, and I will charge a travel fee for any shoot that falls more than 20 miles from my studio.
