I found a dress I like online and I want to try it on, but none of my local stores plan to carry the dress. Should I try to find a place that carries it? Why the hell is this so difficult?! I love that it’s a form fitting sheath and has a low-ish back but it’s not too low. And I love the neckline and the lace.

Have you tried on any dresses locally? I would say go shopping near home and if you still cant get this dress out of your mind then make plans to travel to try it on. Bring a picture of this dress with you to your appointments and they may be able to find something similar. Make sure to tell them exactly what it you love about this dress and they can find other dresses that have those features.

Try on dresses with sheath silhouettes in shops near you to see if you like the shape on you, Also try on v-neck, delicate strap and low back dresses to see if you like the style elements on you and try on dresses in different fabrics like lace with satin underlay versus organza or charmeuse or crepe or tulle just to get an idea of what you like on. Some fabrics will show every curve and bump while other fabrics will be more forgiving. Just reaffirm what you like and don’t like before you commit to trying on the inspiration dress.

None of the dress shops in my area had the dress I want. So I called them and said I know you carry Casablanca can you get this one in? I tried on what I call a traveling dress(it goes from shop to shop throughout the US), it cost 80 bucks but that money went towards the final cost of the dress(if I liked it). Thankfully I did.
Is that an option?

I think this dress by Casablanca is similar.
I agree w/ Hp417 – go to several local shops with the picture, and they’ll be happy to pull anything similar they have in stock.
