Originally FH planned to give his groomsmen each a bottle of Maker’s Mark as part of their gift; however, I just realized today that all of them will be flying in for the wedding and I would hate for the gift to be a burden when they fly back home. Do you all have other gift ideas for these guys that would be more airport friendly?

Maybe he could present them with a small bottle (they do make mini-bottles of it, I believe) and explain that he is shipping them the big bottles?
Or he could give them flasks and small bottles there.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

I think they would be able to take them on the plan if they packed them in their luggage. I brought stuff back from out of country and just packed it. Your allowed up to a certain amount (I think its a liter but I may be waaaay off on that). Otherwise I like cinemaparadio’s idea but you may have trouble shipping it as well unless the store ships it for you.

Hi my fiance is from Louisville too, and we are having a destination wedding in Hawaii. He is thinking of giving pewter Mint Julep cups as gifts.

Could you have it shipped to their house and have it waiting for them when they return, and maybe just give them a little thank you card the day you were planning on giving it to them?

I was going to suggest mint julep cups! I also like the idea of giving them the mini bottles of Makers Mark (you can get them at liquor barn in Louisville!) with a note saying you’ll be sending them the big bottles! It’s such a KY thing, so it would be really nice. You could also go to a Kentucky Proud store or shop onlne (http://www.kentuckyproudmarket.com/) and see what they have there. Maybe Ale 8 glasses? I know you can also find Makers Mark bourbon glasses online.

We’re getting all the guys capcatcher bottle openers from http://www.capcatchers.com They’re useful, and something that they will actually be able to take on the plane without a problem.
