Hey bees! I leave next month for Hawaii, so excited! My Hubby brought up that he wasn’t sure if he should wear his ring on our trip (his needs to be resized). I then thought about my ring. I never wear it swimming, and we are spending a lot of our vacation in the water. Now I am wondering if I should just leave my ring at home in our safe and wear my silicone band for our vacation.
What do you do?

it depends on the vacation. If I knew I’d be doing a lot of hiking, swimming, etc I would leave it at home. If my ring comes on vacation with me I don’t take it off at all (I normally take it off to sleep/shower). But when we went to Europe and were visiting museums and cafes I kept it on.

I do. But it’s insured so I don’t really worry about it. I’m our honeymoon in Mauritius, I usually took it off before I went into the ocean and then put it back on.

We both wore our new rings when we went on our honeymoon in Hawaii. I worried about it a bit when I swam with it on, but it was fine. Now I don’t even think about it no matter what I’m going…

Depends on the vacation. We went to Hawaii in May and did not take our rings as we’d be spending so much time in the water.

I agree that it depends on the vacation. Active vacations on the water I leave it at home. I have a silver band I wear as a stand in.

I wear my ring on vacation always, but I also take along a QALO ring as well. Even at home I wear my QALO ring for the beach/swimming/boating, working out, etc. Basically anything I wouldn’t want to mess my ring up for lose it. It’s insured but I still don’t want to mess it up. My husband only wears his QALO ring, his “real” ring is in the jewelry drawer.

It depends on the vacation. My Fiance proposed the first night of our vacation in Ireland, and I wore my ring the entire time. We didn’t do too many active things beyond walking and biking though. If we were to go on a vacation that involved a lot of time in the water, I’d probably leave it at home and wear a stand in ring.

I wore mine all over Europe and also on a trip to Mexico. I did wear it in the water several times and it was fine, you could wear it and leave it in your safe while you’re doing water activities if you’re worried about losing it.

We have Enso silicone rings that we wear whenever we go kayaking, swimming, etc. While my ring is insured, I would still be absolutely devastated if I lost it.

It depends on the vacation. When we went to Costa Rica, we did a lot of water sports and hiking so DH wore his silicone ring and I wore my cheapy fake one. But when we travel to cities and are just walking around, we wear our real rings. For Hawaii, I would wear a fake one. I’d be devastated if it got damaged or fell off in the ocean. My finger tends to shrink when I’m cold, and no matter how warm the ocean water is, I usually get cold. I’d be afraid it would slip off.

I wear mine all the time. It’s insured, so I’m not too worried about it, and it fits perfectly. I wore it the entire time when we went to Hawaii this summer, and didn’t have any issues with it.

It does depend on the vacation IMO.
I don’t like wearing jewellery in places like Mexico or Cuba where most people are quite poor. I’m not worried about being robbed, it just feels insensitive to wear something that costs more than their yearly wage. I also don’t like wearing jewellery if I’m going to be in the water a ton.
But someplace like europe, japan, where I’m just walking around/sightseeing I’d probably bring it.

I have a cheap, fake solitaire ring for when we go on active vacations. I’ve had too many rings slide off in pools to risk my engagement ring. I’d do silicone except I don’t like how red my skin gets under when water gets trapped. My wedding band will be cheaper so it can stay on all the time.

I usually don’t travel with anything expensive (designer bags/shoes, expensive jewellery) when I go overseas. I also don’t bring my ering on beach vacations because it just sits in the safe the majority of the time anyways. My engagement ring is insured but it holds a lot of sentimental value so I would hate to damage/lose it. I don’t wear a stand in either because I don’t understand the purpose of them.
