for me it depends on the trip. My ring is a 5ct pear solitaire in yellow gold, so it can stand out in some areas. I’ve only been engaged for around 5 months, but we do travel a lot so this has been an issue on my mind also.
The only trip I’ve left it at home for has been when we went to Paris, I wore an old silver band that I have. That city is not safe enough IMO, and bigger diamonds are not the norm there.
I’ve worn it in Japan and felt 100% safe, and have travelled all over the US with it and felt fine. I would probably still take it to HI, but that’s just me.

Yes, my ring has been all over the world from Austrailia to Europe and all over the US… swimming and scuba diving (beginner so not very deep) in oceans, pools, glacier hikes, beaches, and more.

Yes! I love wearing mine and usually only take it off for the gym, washing dishes, sometimes work, etc. I would get it insured. I use jewelers mutual and it’s reasonably priced!

I wear mine all the time. Including snorkeling, snowboarding and the gym. I’ve traveled at least 7 counties with my ering already.
Pictures are from Hawaii/Florida: snorkeling, twin falls, boating and beach.

Depends on where I am going but for the most part, yes. I didn’t take it on our trip to Central America and Colombia last year but it’s coming on our honeymoon to New Zealand and Australia in a few weeks. I’ll take it off for the beach/ water activities.

I took mine to Italy this summer, and wore it hiking round Pompeii and Herculaneum. No problems. Only to smash it off a door frame and knock the stone clean out at work a few weeks later when I slipped over. So I guess the point I’m making is you can be as careful as you like on holiday, it’s just as easy to ruin it back home. Accidents happen anywhere.

I pay for insurance so I can wear always

It would really depend on the vacation. My main fear would be losing it in the ocean or a lake, etc. I have a stand-in I would wear for swimming. But otherwise, I wear my ring everywhere.

I was in Myanmar (Burma) last week so wore a cheap stand in one I bought for £15. I just didn’t feel comfortable wearing a £10k ring somewhere where dinner costs £6 for two people, including drinks. I did actually feel very safe when I was there but you just don’t know in advance and I could relax much more knowing my ring was worthless 🙂

If we’re in a foreign country or planning on doing water activities, I used a stand in ring. If not, I wear my bridal set.
