I’d describe my style as more ‘classic’ (bordering on ‘boring’ lol) than trendy. I wear skinny jeans all the time, but, they’ve been around for ages now so I don’t really see them as ‘trendy’; other cuts are probably more ‘trendy’/high fashion these days.
My typical day-to-day style is dark skinny jeans, flats (or boots if it’s cold), with either a simple vest-top and smart jacket, or else a smart jumper. My work wardrobe tends to consist of tailored trousers/skirt with a blouse/shirt and jacket, or again a smart jumper, or a dress with jacket, and smart flats. Then for an evening out I typically wear jeans with a dressier top and heels or dressy flats, or (more usually) a cocktail dress (usually knee-length or just above) with heels.
Most of my wardrobe conists of clothes and shoes that will still look stylish in 10 years time, and won’t date. Even my jewellery is equally boring lol.
Probably the only trendy thing I’ve tried recently is the whole ring-finger nail polish thing, which I do actually quite like, maybe because it makes me feel more ‘fun’ 😉

I love leggings also, so comfortable. I always wear them with tunics or long sweaters.
I also love the skinny jeans and boots look. I bought a pair of bootcut jeans months ago because I figured I should have a pair and still haven’t worn them. (Whereas like 10 years ago it’s all I would wear!)
Ballet flats – I have so many pairs, they’re so comfy and easy to slip on.
I actually just got into infinity scarves and really like them!

ring finger accent nail (I’ve done my toes like this too)
sperries + rainbows (obsessed with these when I went to school in the south and still love them)
rose gold everything
I’ve never been into uggs or crocs, though crocs were randomly really popular when I was in college.

Yes: Skinny jeans, leggings, combat boots (Bed Stu rocks!), horizontal headbands (circling your head, as opposed to wearing them on top), art deco jewelry and formal fashions, open back shirts with fun strappy sports bras, boyfriend jeans
No: Uggs, fringe, Coach shoes, gel manicures, crop tops, Toms, hair dye, scarves and ear lobe stretching piercings

barbie86: My style is very much like yours in that I prefer more “classic” looks that don’t necessarily date to any one year.
I like long-ish tops with skinny jeans and ankle boots. I don’t have a lot of ballet flats as I prefer shoes with a bit of a heel because they have more arch support. (Geez, I sound old!) Most of my work attire is still boot cut pants (but the newer cuts are slimmer and don’t flare as much on the bottom) as we were not allowed to wear skinny pants at my previous job. I don’t like crop tops as I have a longer torso and I hate high waisted pants.
I never got into ombre hair as my hair color is pretty dark to begin with and I really dislike the harsh blonde-to-dark look. I also don’t like statement jewelry, especially necklaces.
I also never got into big slouchy oversized handbags/purses.
I guess my style is pretty boring!

missinthecity: YUHSSS! I looooove my rainbows. I’ve been wearing them since high school. (not the same pair lol) But they do last forever and a day. I’ve had my current pair for like 5 years. Rainbows are my most favorite shoe ever.

molokoa: I just got a pair of Bed Stu combat boots. I LOVE them!
I like skinny jeans (but I still wear boot cut about 50% of the time), infinity scarves, mid height boots, leggings only with long tops.
I would never wear a crop top and I’m not crazy about ankle boots. I love my UGGS but they’re a different style than the regular ones that are so popular.
Usually trends are on their way out or so standard they’re not even trendy anymore by the time I catch on. Lol

Yes – ankle boots (I’ve always worn them, but they are so much easier to find now!); leggings (I just bought my first pair to wear with a new winter dress).
No – all the rest. I don’t buy clothes often or paint my nails so keeping up with trends doesn’t happen much. Plus, I can never seem to pull them off.

Yes – oversized pieces, turtlenecks (this has always been a classic but also on trend), head to toe in one colour or monochromatic colours, pointy toe loafers, studded details, high waisted pants, plaid, leather jackets, fringe detail (minimal), OTK boots, distressed denim…

Yes- skinny jeans/pants with tall boots (although I still love me some boot cut jeans), flats, infinity scarves, tunic tops (I’m really picky about them though- they still have to have some shape, they can’t be so oversized that I get lost in them).
No- ankle boots/booties/shoeties, ugg boots (I do own a pair of ugg slippers though- actual slippers that slide on, not shoe like at all…I hate the brand but damn they’re cozy!), crop tops, super oversized sweaters, TOMS.

wannabmrsp: I have thunder thighs (literally, they are tree trunks) and leggings definitely do not make you look stumpy! I wear mine with flats, boots (booties and boots of every height!), basically everything! I will only wear my plain black boots with leggings – gives such a long line to the leg, plus I hate how most boots look over jeans, on me at least.
I wear cheap black leggings on the daily (my faves are from the Forever 21 plus line, because they do something amazing to suck in my lower belly flub) – I always wear long shirts to cover the butt so them being a little see through on the booty isn’t an issue. Althetic leggings wise, I love obnoxiously printed ones, but I buy them from Old Navy or Walmart (seriously, the Dankin line is amaze).

Trends take a while to grow on me becuase I tend to be more classic with my style but I’m about as “basic” as it gets! I do fall for most big trends but they have to be flattering.
I’ve fully adopted the whole skinny jeans with flats trend, my mom used to say that it made me look short but now I could care less- I’d much rather look skinny and short than wide and slightly taller lol
Recently I’m adopting the booties trend, I still can’t decide what I’m supposed to do with my jeans though- to cuff, to tuck in, to scrunch up…maybe I should just find my leggings lol
I can’t do the funky nail polish thing or any bright make-up. I’m also very picky about jewlery, I have some statement trendy things but I mostly stick to my pearls. I have a big gold MK watch though.
