Hey ladies! I absolutely LOVE Tres Leches cake. I have only seen it at one wedding. Has anyone else had one or is having one? Did you baker have to modify the recipe since it is so moist…hard to keep its shape?
I live in Pittsburgh, but lived in San Antonio for many years. I thought, if possible, this would be a great way to incorporate some San Antonio flair.

I love tres leches cake SO MUCH!!!
When I lived in Nevada, tres leches sheet cakes were common, although they were often less moist than I liked. I don’t know how it would work to create a tiered wedding cake out of tres leches, though. I have to think you would have to give up some of those yummy leches to give it enough structure.
Also, I wonder if you will have a hard time finding a baker who can/knows how to do them in Pittburgh? Tres leches is very very uncommon in the Northeast/mid-Atlantic. I had never ever heard of it before I moved to the Southwest after college.
Good luck, I hope you can make it work! Yum.

I saw a bakery that made a tres leches filling with those flavors of the sweet milks but it was just the filling in between layers of vanilla cake so it wasn’t doused in liquid. It wouldn’t be the same but if you find a bakery that does something like that, it could be a good solution. Tres leches cake is amazing but kinda messy.
