Had my hair and makeup trial today. Other than my allergies to make up making my eyes water and nose run it was ok. I am not sure if I want my hair up or not . What do you all think? I hardly ever wear makeup so to me it looks like it’s too much.

I think you look gorgeous! And your hair looks great the way it is in the pic.
Are you comfortable with it? If it were me (I also do not wear much makeup), I woiuld perhaps want to make the eyebrows & eyelashes look more natural. Not sure exactly how to do that — maybe darken the brow a bit, and make it look less perfect/stenciled on? And with the eyelashes, maybe skip the false lashes (if those are your real lashes, then, wow!). 🙂
But again, I think you look beautiful, and it is not over the top. These are just suggestions in case you feel uncomfortable, as I think I would.

Beautiful! Remember, wedding makeup will always be on the heavier side as it has to last all day, and gets washed out in photos so it will look a lot up close in order to look nice on the photos.

It looks beautiful. You have gorgeous skin!

watson2be: I think you’re beautiful and the make-up looks lovely. But because you have a long face (like me) I think you need more contouring around your cheekbones. I also think your hair might look better up with some volume to the sides. You’ll be a stunning bride no matter what!

You look lovely. I don’t think it’s too much makeup- remember, you want to look flawless in your photos!

Your skin is amazing!! You look beautiful and it’s definitely not too much. Your hair is awesome too. It’s hard to say whether it should be up or down without seeing the dress but I would say keep it this way for sure.

I’m a professional MUA and honestly, when someone doesn’t wear make up and they allergic to it, I work with that. I don’t do wedding make up, only professional shoots, but that means I work a specifically with photography and lights etc.
there is a narrative running around that you have to wear a ton of make up to show up in pictures but this isn’t true. It all depends on so many things, e.g. lighting and camera equipment, some of which are not predictable in a natural environment like a wedding. Sometimes too much makeup looks like too much make up. I would always err on the side of less because nothing is worse than too much, and esp with someone who isn’t comfortable in the first place. You want to love your look and feel like you.
For that reason, I recommend polished but comfortable for brides who don’t wear makeup. So, wear what makes you feel beautiful and confident. You look beautiful in these pictures, but you don’t need to wear false eyelashes to look good and if I were doing your makeup I’d accentuate your brow arch (think a little Liz Taylor) and then comb through and blend the brow powder and pencil so it didn’t look done.
Do what makes you comfortable! You’re already beautiful.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate the compliments. I am 40 and having a hard time being 40! Lol
Ballet Parker: I think I will try the eyebrow suggestion. I am not crazy about how mine look here and the false lashes are ok but I want to see more me in my pictures.

watson2be: the lashes are VERY long… maybe a more natural one?

You look amazing! I think the makeup is perfect!! I’m partial to hair updos because I feel like they stay prettier longer, but your hair looks very pretty down!
