So I am curious as to the reasons why it wouldn’t be a good idea for a bride to have her makeup and hair trial done 5 months in advance? My wedding is slotted for Sept but I am doing my hair and makeup trial this sat (I have a black tie event so I thought I could get some use out of the $$ I am spending on it)

just think of the risks you take if you don’t. A dark smokey eye when you thought you said a natural look, or a birds nest on your head when you said soft messy bun???
Unless you trust your hairdresser and MUA 10000% you dont really know how its going to look.
It’s like choosing your wedding dress, you wouldn’t look at a few pictures and then pick the one you like best, you need to try them on to see what suits your body shape, skin tone etc.
Same goes for hair and MU. what looks awesome on a model may not look so awesome on you. I guess its a peace of mind thing. please post pics, im currently researching hair and make-up looks. let me know how you go.

I did a hair and makeup trial almost 6 months in advance (although I ended up doing two hair trials, but that’s a different story). If you have an event to go to this weekend, definitely ahead with the trial. I wish I had been able to go somewhere with mine when I was all done up! Don’t worry about the fact you are doing in way in advance, just take lots of pictures of it that you can use to show your MUA and hair dresser what they did for the trial when it comes to your wedding day.

welp – hair and makeup trial went great! same girl who did my hair also did my MU. Hair turned out pretty great – there will be minor adjustments made for the day of. airbrushed MU was great! First time I’ve ever used it and I’m believer. the eye was a little heavier than I want for the day of, but that’s what the trial is for 😉 overall I’m satisfied and will post pics of my hair – not my face tho for obvious reasons.
Honest opinions are welcome!!!
