My boyfriend would rather diet than exercise. I would rather exercise than diet. He refuses to go to the gym or even do videos at home with me. I don’t want him to lose weight because he’s not fat, but I’d like it if he worked on his shoulders and chest because he has NO muscle tone there anymore.

@brideatbeach:  That’s fantastic.  Hopefully you can impart some of your knowledge and help him make the right decisions for himself.  My SO eats a TON (like more at every meal than I eat in an entire day haha) but he’s still losing weight because he’s eating the right things.

I can never understand when people say, ‘he should like me for me and not what’s on the outside’?

C’mon, do you NOT realize that there is such a thing as physical attraction? Do you not realize that we are all visual (especially men) and we are made that way for a reason? It is NOT shallow to expect that your mate/spouse work to also maintain a healthy weight.  Of course I am not suggesting that they reject you for it and I am not suggesting that they even leave you for it.  However, physical attraction is ALSO a component of a relationship, and a healthy one at that.  To put your head in the sand and deny that fact is to deny science.  Yes, he/she loves you for you but one of the reasons your mate wants to sex you up is that you turn them on and it goes beyond the mind – Fact.
