Marquis! The pear would be nicer if it was a little smaller.

The pear looks too much like a cocktail ring for me to like it as an engagement ring.

Yes, I know any ring can be an engagement ring, but this does not look like a ‘wear daily’ piece.

The marquis suits your finger, and looks stunning. I am a pear lover generally, but I would choose the marquis a thousand times out of these two 🙂

You should definitely go for the pear..it’s obvious to me that you love it and I think you would regret it if you got the marquis!! You said you felt sad taking it off.. listen to your heart girl!

That being said you really can’t go wrong with either one of those beauties!

Hehe oops I just actually read your post rather than just looking at the pretty pictures, and now I think you should go with the pear as it definitely seems like you much prefer that one!

I prefer the marquise but it sounds like you prefer the pear.

I personally find the pear ring too busy.  It’s a lot of bling but for me it’s a bit too much.  The setting overwhelms the center diamond.

Go with what your gut tells you since you’re the one wearing it.

I love the pear. It looks perfect on you! No offense to other marquis out there but this one looks like an eye.

I am anti-pear, so I gave it an immediate no. But that’s just me…they are both very pretty rings. You sound more excited about the pear!

I don’t care for the asymmetry of a pear and like others have stated it looks a little chunky. I typically am not a fan of marquise but this one stunning!!  i love it. :). Good luck!  This poll is so close!

I’m not a fan of that particular double halo.  I think the proportions of the marquise work much better!

I’m not a fan of the double halo on the pear – I think it wld look better with just one halo. Out of the 2 I think the marquis is more elegant.

I tried on that pear ring at Kay’s — my vote is for that! It is a lot of ring, but it’s gorgeous. Go with your gut though. Would you feel more disapointed over one of them? I was looking at 2 rings, too, and I was all, “This one is nice, I could see me wearing it….” but when I put on the pear and compared them… no contest. Do what feels right, and don’t worry about what other people thing of pears or marquis.

Personally, I think marquis cuts look like footballs. :/
