We booked a 7 day vacation through a great travel agent for Jamaica (Sandals Dunns River Villaggio) for under 4k. We actually had it at 2600ish but received a generous gift towards our honeymoon so we upgraded to a veryyy nice room.

Caribbean is an affordable place. We picked Jamaica because it’s more accessible (we hate flying and many smaller ones like St Lucia require a prop plane, which are not only scary to me, but have sparse schedules for when they fly.)

Jamaica is my fave but I hear Aruba is great too!

For the Caribbean, Dominican Republic is really affordable! And they have direct flights, well from Boston…don’t know about Seattle.

While there aren’t tons of hurricanes at that time, you might want to be a little cautious with the Caribbean.  You can find cheap in the Caribbean and you can find super crazy expensive- Anguilla has hotels that can run over $1k a night, non inclusive.  The expensive places can get cheaper in the summer though.  As for flights, summer is typically down time in the islands, so the flight options can become sparse, leaving you with long layovers.  To get to St. Lucia from Minneapolis at the end of August, it could take up to 20 hours to get there!  I don’t know what your options from Seattle are though.

Just for convenience sake I would say Hawaii. Ive been to Hawaii and Mexico and Hawaii was AMAZING. I loved it so much I would go back in a heartbeat!! It is also really close for you! So for some Hawaii might be really expensive because the airfare is so high, but you would have a direct flight and it wouldnt take too long. On the other hand, getting to the Caribbean would probably be more difficult. Sandals vacations run around $3000+ for the week which is all inclusive (all meals, airport transfers and airfare) and the rooms are AMAZING. Hawaii has A LOT to do – snorkeling, hiking, waterfalls, long drives, black sand beaches. It is incredible. Ive never been to the Caribbean for more than a day (on a cruise) so I cant really say much about it!

Yeah, I looking for honeymoons, too and leaving from Seattle and I found a 7day adult only all inclusive in the bahamas for $2700 for the two of us.(that includes airfare too)  Breezes Resort in the Bahamas.  If I had another 1k, I would definitely go to Sandals or Couples.

With 5K, you’re good.  You could go anywhere.

Keep in mind that if you opt for the Carribean and Southern Florida – you are coming into hurricane season (and it will be very hot). but they are beautiful and would be very different from Seattle!  Have fun!!

@yrret107 I went to Breezes for spring break a few years ago and it was great. There’s a glass bottom snorling lunch/booze cruise that leaves from the beach to the left of the resort (when facing the water) that I would highly recommend. Also, wander the property if you are looking for some peach and quiet, there are a lot of hidden nooks and crannies which make you feel like you’re the only one there.

NO to the keys!  I live in S. Fl and we call it something else because of all the bums, no nice beaches.. and all the drunks on duval st.

Go to Marco Island, Florida.  Nothing can explain it.  white sand beaches that are like powder, crystal clear water, perfect weather, great restaurants..plenty to do! Romantic, with tons of hotels to pick from from the Marriott and Hilton to renting a private house all on the beach! I have gone there for 23years and remember it raining and being crappy weather twice.

Here are some pic of the beach

Its on the west coast and has amazing sunsets…..

Actually if you do an all inclusive hotel you can get rooms for under that.  Have you tried Sandals/Beaches??  They are having a up to 65% sale on some of the resorts right now depending on when you book and where you are going.  I was just looking and one hotel we could get 45% off.  It was a HUGE savings only wish I knew what they would be doing next year!

St. Thomas is beautiful!  You could actually do Hawaii for around that price range too. Go to Kaui or Maui not the main island as it would be cheaper.
