I was just reading about it and they were calling it something about a “protest over Obama shutting down the government”….  *INSERT MAJOR EYE ROLL HERE*

I fully support peaceful protests, but this just makes our (Beltway commuter bees) lives difficult, instead of making a point to the President and Congress. It’s not like Obama and the Congressmen take 495 to work every morning – but I and thousands of other people do, and we had nothing to do with the shutdown!

You can get a support sticker for your car & roll right through the convoy.  They’re also leaving a lane open for emergency vehicles.

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat:  +1, I was just about to say that if I saw a free space and had to get to work then I would be all over that.

This is actually awesome.  I wish more people would protest the ridiculousness that is Congress and the Whitehouse.

And seriously…just get a freaking sticker for your car, and you’ll be fine.  Or don’t, like, live in DC.  Easy!  (I know, I know, it’s not that easy.)

@peachacid:  I agree. I think this is great.

I was super disappointed that Darling Husband and I couldn’t make the 9-11 motorcycle ride into DC, but we will definitely be there next year.

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat:  +1

@peachacid:  I  support the concept and would be more okay with it if it actually affected the White House or Congress… this will only affect people who are not involved. So basically, they’re screwing over a lot of people, but not those they’re protesting.

I’m all for peaceful protesting and getting involved, but like you said – this is only going to inconvenience people trying to get to work. What a nightmare! Glad I’ll be off that day :-/

A sticker is not going to get you through traffic very fast. You’ll still be backed up for hours.
