I would go see it but Darling Husband and the ILs went to see it and my SMIL came home and told me all the plot twists and climactic moments.  So I’ve already “seen it.”  God I can’t wait for them to leave.

My FH wants to know how it stacks up to the first one. He asked me to ask you when I read this to him. Personally, I don’t care, but he wants to see it (he can go with his son). I hated the first one so don’t really don’t care about the new one. Will you please tell him so I can quit looking up previews for him (he doesn’t know how to use a computer). None of the reviews are comparing it to the first one. Thanks

I put it on my Netflix queue.  I’ll have Darling Husband watch it and let you know.

@tksjewelry: My dad is a big fan of old western movies, and on the way out, he said, “I didn’t expect that to be amazing. John Wayne himself may have been a little intimidated by Jeff Bridges.” He liked this version better than the first!

I really have no idea. I haven’t seen the first one, just going off what my good ol’ dad said! 🙂

My coworker saw it and told us it went more off of the book than the original with John Wayne. I haven’t seen it, though. She did say she liked it.
