Ummm why is this even an issue?

Not everyone watches GOT.

And plenty of avenues to catch the speech/interview on Youtube, etc, after if you are a GOT fan.

Ya I don’t see an issue either. I don’t know a single person who watches that show.

I know MANY people who watch the show. Seems like an odd choice to me.

Kslim13 : I get the sarcasm…but I don’t really understand why the timing was ‘odd’. GOT is just a show. Nothing more.

If the interview/speech occured at any other time it would still be during some show time that has a fan base as well.

Not sure why some of the people who don’t watch GoT seem offended? The show has some of the highest viewership ratings in television history and it was the series finale- does seem like a bit of an odd time to do an interview. 🤷🏼‍♀️

MrsMellyBean :  I’ve seen a lot of “thank god it’s over” “am I the only one who’s never seen an episode” posts

It’s a sense of pride I think? Maybe a sense of being different? But they are just like all the others posting about their dislike of game of thrones that they never watched anyway? I don’t know, I want to be like… yay, you?

I started watching again where I left off, and am in the middle of season four. I watched the last two episodes of the final season because I wanted to know how it ended and was reading about it so I was like… I should just watch instead of reading recaps

Eta, I’m not saying that’s what I’m seeing here, just what I see on social media

I am literally the only person under the age of 65 I know that does not watch GOT.  Everyone I know had massive viewing parties last night.  (I work with college stidents)

I am more surprised that Trump was willing to be interviewed during such a popular show. He likes to brag about his ratings, and there is no way GOT didn’t cut into those.

Sansa85 :  I agree- I’ve seen a ton of those comments on social media too. Like so? I don’t really see the point.

raindrop101 :  exactly! I’m not saying that a tv show should take precedence over anything, I just figured Trump and his ego wouldn’t want to compete with anything. Unless he figured it would be a good time to sneak things by that wouldn’t generally be well-received.

MrsMellyBean :  he will tell us that he had higher ratings than GOT, especially when he finds out that he didn’t
