It’s a sale!

Sometimes a store might bring in more samples or there will be a sales consultant from the designer there to help. Every store is different but it only means good things ๐Ÿ™‚

Appointments usually book up fast (at least, around my area they do) so book early if you want to go!

If you love Maggie I would say definitely go!  You can try on the samples and buy it right then and there.  But there’s no customization or sizing since you’re buying what you try on.

@youhavemyheart:Well the other Bee’s sure know their stuff! Yes a trunk show is a SALE! So it is a great time go shopping for your gown. With Maggie Sottero the designers pre-select about 25 dresses from their new collection which right now is Fall 2010 and they send it into the stores for them to display. All Maggie gowns will be on sale and you will get to see new dresses that are not normally in stores.

The reason it is called a “trunk show” is because it use to be that the dresses travelled from store to store in trunks.. now it is a UPS box but that does not sound nearly as glamours!

Best of luck to you!

I’m actually going to that exact same trunk sale in Cinci!  Can’t wait!

As the others said, a trunk show is basically just a sale where one particular designer is featured, and the store will bring in more of that designer’s dresses than they might typically carry (e.g., the entire Spring 2011 line, or a spring and fall line, etc.).  I bought my dress at a trunk show (not Maggie Sottero) and got something like 10% or 15% off.  Typically you have to order during the show to get the discount, so if you’re not completely in love with a dress and ready to buy, you can end up feeling a little pressured.

Oh and I will be in Cinci that weekend! Hmmm. I may have to consider this.
