I am going to Christos trunk show on Saturday. This is my first wedding dress shopping experience and while I always though this would be fun, I am a bit intimidated. I am going alone since my Mom lives on the opposite side of the world and my friend is out of town.
What should I expect ? Is it a mistake to go alone ? I am almost ready to cancel the appointment to be honest.

I have been to two trunk shows in one day. The second show I got my dress. I made appointments at both. One had me look through the styles from a book and one worker picked out dresses for me, I tried them on, 4 of them then got to look around at all the dresses they had hanging in plastic. Which was difficult to see what they really looked like. They pretty much left me alone to help other people. The second shop, they showed me at all the dresses they had for the trunk show so I could let them know what I liked and what they thought may be good on me. They brought the dresses to the fitting room and I tried on a bunch and the last one I loved. Around 8 or so dresses. One thing though with trunk shows, you usually purchase that day to get the discount. I was glad I had my fiance’s mom with me so I had another opinion before I made such a big purchase and there for support I guess, I would have bought it anyway. Trunk shows for certain designers only come around once or twice a year. So if you find a dress and your undecided, you could always come back later that day or the next if it is a 2 day show and get your friend/family opinion on it and get your trunk show discount. I hope that helps at all. I would just go and try dresses on, you can get a feel for what you like even if you don’t want to purchase. I was totally nervous about it too.
