*hugs* welcome to the madness that is the waiting hive. I totally understand where you are coming from. We all go through our phases. I would sudgest reading some of the past trends and you will see the similar stories and different philosophies on waiting.

I’d ask him face to face. And if he gets mushy or tries to play it off, just tell him you’re serious. He knows it means a lot to you and three years is quite a long wait. You’re not teenagers or anything, so why the extended wait?

If he tries to play that off, look him in the eye and tell him you want a timeline and an actual month/year when you can expect to be engaged. Just tell him that the only way you’re going to stop asking/nagging is if you know what/when to expect it.

I think guys just automatically assume this is their show and they control it but that’s bull shit. It’s two people’s lives, not just one. You should be able to have a meaningful conversation without him patronizing you. Just try not to bug him after you have that conversation.
