Honestly, I don’t think it’s going to ruin your image if you war ivory or white. They are different colors… but the difference is so slight IMO that it doesn’t matter. Unless someone is comparing ivory and white together, I wouldn’t know which one you were wearing. I hope this helps calm you down. I hate that you’re on the verge of tears 🙁 Cheer up! I honestly don’t think anyone is going to notice, and you may not even notice either. Wait until your dress comes in, and then see what happens. I bet you’ll be so happy! 🙂

I was in the exact same situation.  Between that and problems with the dress seller, I freaked out and bought another dress (which led to a WHOLE new set of problems.)  I eventually got dress 1 from the seller…  And in different lighting (as in not yellowish light in a backroom), it looked white, and I still looked tall (I’m 5’2″), thin (I’m 160 lbs), and regal in it.  I feel like a dwarf in the other one.  My advice – if you’ve already paid for it, sit tight.  The difference between white and a wedding dress ivory is SO slight.  The lighting in that room looks terrible (unless the walls were gray)

I don’t think it will be a big deal at all! There is some degree of difference, but nothing drastic. Don’t worry about it! If nothing else, I think it will make it pop a bit more. The dress looks gorgeous, and it will be equally beautiful in white. Calm down, girl! You’re gonna look smokin’!

The picture you’re looking at isn’t the best quality.  Don’t snap defeat out of the jaws of victory!  Your dress is beautiful and it’s going to look great.  When you see it in person, and not in a grainy, dark pictures, you’re going to love it!

Don’t be upset.  The difference between white and ivory is usually very slight.  You could always contact the salon of the off chance that the designer hasn’t processed your order yet… but I think you are panicking over nothing.  Like I said, the difference is slight, and with your skin tone, you could easily pull off white.

yes i did the same exact thing. the dress i tried on was alabaster and i ordered it in diamond white without seeing that color first. it came in and I LOVE IT. i’m so glad i did that. the difference between the maggie white and ivory is very slight. seriously! the best way i can describe it is the white is a bright crisp white and the ivory looks a little softer. it just doenst have the same crisp look. i dont know if you thought of this but you can always go back to the store and try on something that is the same color as the one you ordered. i think either way you are going to look stunning and you will be the only one who notices the different whites.

@imani97:

First let me say you have such a gorgeous figure I don’t think anybody could think you don’t look beautiful. Your dress is very pretty and I know you will look great in white. I ordered a diamond white dress without seeing it (like you I tried on the ivory sample), and I had my fears, but after all I am the bride, I know I will look best in whichever color and you should feel the same! Cheer up it will be ok 🙂

@imani97: You look AMAZING in this dress! I also ordered the Sottero & Midgley “Tracey” and have been dying to see another real bride in it. The sample I tried on was huge on me, so a lot of the shape and beauty of the dress got lost and I’ve been questioning my choice when looking at my picture. Seeing you in this dress puts me at ease, because it really is gorgeous. Although I ordered it in ivory, I agree with other bees that the white will look great on you and will not be that drastically different from the ivory.

I actually think the white will be great on you and I agree with PP that the color of ivory and white in wedding dresses is very slight.

I think that you will look gorge in either color! Maybe you can call up your dress boutique and request a swatch of your dress and the white one also. You can compare them then and see how slight the difference is!
