Ok so my boyfriend and I have been casually looking at rings for a couple months. He has been telling me that I should not expect a proposal until March or April because he needs to wait on his tax return and bonus. However, we went to a jewlery store last week and both fell in love with a 2 carat princess solitaire. So he called about it, and tried to barter with the owner, however still (to my knowledge) had not made a decision.
Two nights ago, he left his work email up and I saw an email titled loan request. So thinking he was applying for a loan without my knowledge, I opened it. It was an email he sent to his parents, saying thank you for the option to borrow the money from them with no interest instead of financing the balance of the ring and that he may give it to me on xmas so he needs to get moving on picking it out.
So as soon as i read it I stopped, obviously super excited, but trying not to overanalyze, spoil the surprise, or get too excited in case it doesnt work out.
I just needed to vent, didnt want to tell anyone in case it doesnt happen, but im so excited!!!

Congrats on finding the info, that is super exciting!! I have been waiting for my SO do slip up and leave something out that I can find, but he does his very best to cover his tracks and has told me the same thing your SO has told you about a March/April proposal. Wishing you the best!!!

Funny! My SO also promised an April proposal, but I know for a fact ring shopping isn’t even on his radar yet. I just hope he remembers his promise. Ive been doing my best to keep quiet on the issue.

Yea he has been joking about a st pattys day proposal (im 100% irish) but there is no way he would actually tell me that if that was his plan. I am literally going to be on pins and needles now! oh and yesterday I also saw in the mail a bill/ document of some sort in his name that had Wells Fargo, Hannoush Jewlers Documentation Dept. in the senders address window. I pretended not to see and noticed that he didnt open it and put under some other mail in his stack.
