WasabiWithYou : Thats totally understandable! I had kids too young and would LOVE to have more, but FH and I are 34.5 and neither of us want to start over again (we have two 9 yr olds and a 16 yr old). So as much as I love him and dream of having babies with him, it just isnt what we want and that breaks my heart a little every time I think about it. (for the record he would have them if I wanted – I just dont want to reset my mom clock again)

I really hope your guy makes it happen SOON so you can get rid of some of this anxiety

WasabiWithYou : As someone who deals with a difficult ex sometimes… you are so right!

Hopefully you can continue to talk openly and honestly, sounds like you have a good foundation in place for that. There is no right/wrong answer when it comes to wanting kids and its good you have a solid understanding of how you feel and where your “red lines” are. Good for you for standing your ground on that in a healthy way. **fingers crossed it happens soon!!**

WasabiWithYou : Is getting a proposal a few weeks later than expected really going to throw your whole time line? Since it sounds like you are just waiting on a formality that will happen within a few weeks, what about calling venues you like now to schedule a time to see them?

You can still have your autumn wedding, you may just have to compromise on some of the details. It might be worth it since you are wanting to try for children soon.

Congrats on your upcoming engagement, and be sure to post pics of your ring!

unicornwolf : I agree. You can totally still have a fall wedding! I’m 37 hoping for a Jan engagement and planning a spring or fall 2019 wedding.

Much better to compromise on wedding venue/vendors than put off TTC at our age!

I was married before as well and feel I already had my dream wedding. This time I want my dream marriage!

Not sure how he jumped to October 2020.

If you get engaged in January you could pull off a Jan-spring 2020 wedding.

WasabiWithYou : I have no advice. I’ve been waiting for 2 years and the original timeline was the end of 2017 hahaha. So I’d only give bad advice as I bring it up all the time and that definitely doesn’t work lol
