Just focus on something else. I went with Fiance to look at rings last September and we found such a great deal on a set I LOVED that he bought it that day. He had until the end of October to use his rewards dollars on setting the diamond, and with as frugal as he is I knew he would do it. I went into planning overload (didn’t tell him) and he didn’t even propose until February. I did stop the obsessing a couple weeks after the set was purchsed because I got sick of it.

I’m on planning hiatus right now. I’m sure I am not the only one who will tell you, planning a wedding is stressful. Its a lot of research, time invested, etc. You have PLENTY of time to do it once you’re engaged. It’s not even all that fun all the time. Seriously, as exciting as it is, focus your attention elsewhere.

i’m in a similar situation…he’s talked to my parents and bought the ring and only he knows when it will be, though he’s given me a ballpark. This is not our first wedding (second for both of us) so we started planning a few months ago…booked the venue, photographer, coordinator and working on a  caterer. We know we are going to have to list his house too and find one appropriate for all of us (6 kids between us). I wanted to get the “big” things out of the way so planning might be less stressful….

Get a secret pinterest board and put all your ideas there! No one will it but you, and when he’s ready to talk about it you will be prepared!

Yes pinterest saved me 🙂 Anytime I got bored and wanted to think wedding stuff, I would just pin new things I liked!
