Hi bees! I went to try on dresses for this first time this weekend. I went to a place that was highly recommended and happened to be in the town I grew up. I’ve always “oohhhed” and “awwwed” at the gowns in the windows, so I was SUPER excited to actually get to see them up close (and on ME!). Anyway, I went with my Maid/Matron of Honor and mother. We got there 10 minutes early, but the bride before me apparently got there super late. The lady at the counter had to help me try on dresses instead of the bridal consultant. She was super nice, but she had to keep running to check on the counter out front and I felt a little slighted. I could hear the other bride with the consultant on the other side of the store and they seemed like they were having a grand old time…during my appointment, while I stood there totally confused and overwhelmed without much help. It was very disappointing because I was looking forward to this moment for so long. Obviously, I didn’t end up buying anything, but it wasn’t a total bust. I did get to try on some beautiful gowns and narrow down some elements that I thought I would like, but didn’t like afterall (turns out I don’t like all lace gowns and that’s the look I thought I loved!).
So, please brides – be on time for your appointments!! Be courteous to the bride after you! Sometimes I think people don’t realize how there actions effect others :/
Has anyone had a similar experience? Were you let down after your first dress appointment because it wasn’t what you thought it would be?
