Who is doing your hair? My usualy stylist did my hair, so I just went to her about a month before to try out a couple and see which I liked best.

My hairstylist for the big day isn’t my usual stylist (my usual one will be on mat leave!)  Since she had never done my hair before, I went back in January (so 6 months before) for my trial.  I honestly hated my first trial, so I went again about a month ago and it turned out a million times better.  The salon I’m going to on the big day is very busy and you have to book appt’s a few weeks in advance, so I was happy to have a TOn of buffer time for extra trials as necessary.  Since I was happy with my last trial, my stylist took tons of pictures of it on her phone and on my phone, as well as making some notes for herself – so she will have it to refer back to on the big day.  Now that things are starting to get busier, I’m so happy to have both my hair and makeup trials out of the way!  So, all that is to say, no I don’t think 4-5 months is too early, but you don’t have to start that early either.  It’s all about what you are comfortable with!

@pinkcrush:  In that case, maybe allow yourself time for more than one trial. Good luck!
