skunktastic:  That was my mom, too. She got married in the 60’s in a blue mini skirt dress and bouffaunt hairdo. I have no idea where the dress ended up. My dad wore a suit that was grey, but had a purple sheen in the light. Of course it was polyester, with a vest and wide tie. Their wedding pictures are a scream.

I tried my mom’s dress on for laughs… it didn’t work on me at all! She was 5’8″, 120 pounds, and tiny all over, and I was 5’0″, 110 pounds, and a busty inverted triangle, when I tried on that dress. I managed to zip it up, but her dress was so unflattering. The bodice emphasized her tiny waist, which I lacked. It made me look lumpy. There was no embellishment excapt at the hem, which was dragging on the floor. On top of that, it had those 1970s neckline ruffles that dwarfed my frame… yeah no.

You actually look good in your mom’s dress, which is amazing! I think with a few minor alterations on the bodice, it will be perfect!

I’d try on my mums dress but about 20 years ago her pet cat took a dump on the train and she threw it out…. LOL
