They are similar, but I would choose Emma B (I actually wrote that before I even saw the price difference!). I like her softer looks and feel like her color pictures are better than the other photographer’s.

Emma. You can afford her without being stressed, and she takes beautiful photos.

It’s tough. Emma is softer, and Toast is more dramatic, I think.

All depends on what you are looking for.

Have you met either one of them?

@scifilullaby:  I think if your mom can find a handful of examples of these “chocolate box pretty” shots she wants, a photographer should be able to accommodate those and get them out of the way then continue in their own personal style. I know a lot of people have “must have” shots.

@scifilullaby:  My suggestion is to arrange a phone or Skype consultation with both of them.  Personality compatibility is a much bigger part of getting good photos than it is to just find someone in your budget.  Also do you want to appease your mother or get the style of photography that YOU want?

I really love the second one.

But, go with the one you want, try not to be swayed by the opinions of others. You’ll have these pics forever. Its so inportant you and your husband love them.

I’m a photographer, and my choice would be Emma B. She seems to handle light much better than the other. You can tell that she understands and has skill, just based on the first wedding in the barn. that’s tricky lighting, and all of her stuff was nicely/evenly lit w/ natural skin tones. The other photographer has a more dramatic style, but I noticed some definite focus issues and inconsistent lighting.

As for candid over posed, rest assured I am willing to bet that Emma B. also does some posed B&G photos. We all do, we might just not blog them. 😉
