I’m having a tough time deciding on our colors. We are having an outdoor wedding and I’ve always wanted my colors to be very natural and light. I live in the pacific northwest closer to the Idaho border and it’s going to be out at my FI’s parent’s house in the woods.
So far all I have for colors is cream and a light green. I really want to incorperate the kinds of foliage plants you would see in this area without making it seem too “earthy” (as my mother put is). I also really want to do some cute things with pinecones, especially putting some smaller ones in my bouquet.
Any ideas or suggestions? I just feel like what I have so far is too…well, boring.

Since you’re getting married in the fall, what about a pop of autumn color like orange? Or if you still want to keep things light, some light shade of blue? Those are two very different directions but would add some dimension to the current cream and light green color scheme.

It doesn’t have to be boring at all. That sounds very elegant. I myself wanted lots of color, but if that’s not what you want, then don’t do it! I like the pics the poster above posted. I like the use of birch bark. We used that in our wedding. We had birch bases carved with our initials. Very pretty! Everyone commented on our little details. Just because the colors are more subdued don’t make it boring. Just have interesting details and maybe lots of texture! I think it will be very classy! Love the pinecone idea. You could also use them in your centerpieces or do escort cards attached to pine cones. I’ve seen pics of that before. It was gorgeous. You could do boutonnierres with bark, branching or twine incorporated. We used a lot of branching in our decor. I think details like that would wow without being overwhelming and in your face.

Would you be open to the idea of adding some browns? I think a chocolate brown could go nicely with light green and cream. This inspiration board is a little darker green than you’re thinking, but so you have an idea of where I was headed:

Im having a summer wedding, my colours were originally browns and greens. I decided to go against the green only because the girls in my party have pale skin and the olive colour i was looking at wouldnt have complimented them. They now have coffee coloured dresses and my colours are Chocolate, coffee and cream with some green spashed in the flowers etc.
Maybe try and incorporate some sort of brown to go with the pine cones? I love green and brown together 🙂

Thank you for all of the suggestions so far guys, the idea of corperating a brown color sounds really great! A light green, brown, and a cream color so far really fits the pacific northwest atmospere. I’m excited about the idea of having pinecones throughout my decor and in my bouquet is exciting 🙂
Thank you all!

You could totally do little terreriums (sp?) for table decor/favors! I will try to find a picture I saw. Well, here is a similar one. http://www.projectwedding.com/wedding-ideas/diy-succulent-terrarium
