I would ask for references and actually call them-all of them. I would also check with the Chamber of Commerce where you live (ours will help with this, but I live in a small town) and definitely check with the BBB. Remember…if it sounds too good to be true…it probably is! The only thing is-with the recession in full swing and people cutting WAY back on things-including wedding things-businesses are way more willing to make deals and do special offers to get your business. I’d check ’em out completely.

 . . . if you have to ask . . .

That’s the first thing that came to mind anyway.  Tax should either be included or not.  I kinda figure if they are willing to cheat the government on taxes, they probably don’t mind screwing you over either.  But, I’m pretty cynical.  I could be wrong.  Check them out completely though.

sounds pretty damn shady.  my advice is if you have to ask, don’t use them.  don’t risk anything about your wedding!

I’m with liztwinz – check your local BBB and Chamber of Commerce. They may also just be a smaller business who is starting up and is therefore a sole proprietership and so they can only deposit check with the name of the owner and then DBA (doing business as). You might ask them about it, but I’d say references wouldn’t hurt either.

Bon Chance! 🙂

Always go with your gut!

That sounds pretty shady to me… I wouldn’t use this person.
