What makes a dress sexy to you?

Do you want the top to look like lingerie, a la Pnina?

Do you want a backless dress?

Something with a lot of cleavage?

All of the above?

missylu1522 :  yes, I have some of the names (though not all)

Top one is Pnina Tournei–that one will cost you a very pretty penny.

Third one is a Sarah Nourei.

Fourth is Berta Spring

Basically, search google images for “backless wedding ball gown” “sheer top ball gown wedding” and “deep v wedding ball gown” and you’ll get a lot of them pop up.

Other bees are better than me at finding you lots of options now that they know your tastes: I just thought I’d get them started by figuring out what you meant.  I personally think your best bet is print out these plus whatever else you like from your google searches and start going to wedding gown stores and showing them what you like–see what they suggest!

I like this ballgown but sexy idea! Its a fun twist but I can see the difficulty. I personally like the following:

Good Luck and let us know what you choose!

What about doing an overskirt option? My dress ended up being a mermaid because ballgowns made me feel too young and princessy and I didn’t want that. The bodice of mine is a sheer lace bustier type top. If you had something like that, you could bustle the train of the original dress and add a tulle overskirt! Then you can have a gorgeous, sophisticated ball gown for the ceremony, and take it off and have a mermaid gown for the reception! So there’s an idea for you!

However, if you think you WON’T take off the overskirt, then I’d say just go for the sexy ball gown or a 2 piece dress (separate top and skirt). Most of the overskirts I tried on cost more than my dress itself! So it felt like I could save a lot of money by just choosing ONE dress/look (and that’s what I decided to do).

P.S. If you want to see what I chose, it’s the Essence of Australia D2202! Try to find pics of real people wearing it because I tend to think it looks sexier on real brides. Hayley Paige has some great 2 piece options (so you can get whatever sexy bustier you want and then purchasing your preferred ball gown skirt. They have many different fabric options out there, not just tulle!)
