Hello 🙂
I am looking for an Engagement Ring at the moment. I never really wore a ring before so I am really unsure about my size. We went to two different shops and I even bought myself a pair of „metal ring sizers“ so i could wear some of the sizers at home to see which one feels comfortable (i know it sounds and looks a bit silly.. especially on the picture haha).
I have two sizes that i feel comfortable with. Both go on and off very easily (maybe too easy but they both feel secure). The next bigger size feels too loose and like it would easily fall off.
The issue i have is that i have pretty chubby hands/fingers so they give me a bit of a „muffin top“? also both rings leave a small dent after i take them off.. even after only wearing them for about 40 minutes. Is that normal?
Thank you in advance 🙂

I got a free wedding sizer from Brillant Earth. It was very nice! You might be able to request from their website, and that might help you get a better idea. Tracking sizes throughout different parts of the day might make you feel comfortable in choosing a final sizing.

Once I had a good idea of a size range from the ring sizes, I bought a few inexpensive rings from amazon ($15 each or so) that were around the same width I was considering. Wore the, around for a few days, was able to determine the best size that fit comfortably most of the time.
My fingers swell a lot with my period and in hot weather, and I hate tight rings. I found I get panicky and a bit claustrophobic if my rings are too tight. A lot of jewelers recommendations rings be worn so tight you can barely get them off, and they won’t spin, but I disagree. I wear mine a bit loose and have never lost a ring. I also like to get mine sized a bit too lose then bring the size back down with sizing beads.
Generally I think if a ring gives you muffin top and leaves an indent after wearing for only 30 min or so, it’s probably too tight. But everyones fingers are shaped differently and some people have bigger/smaller knuckles.
