I am having a hard time trying to prioritize my wedding list. The 2 big things I am trying to find if more importatnt is the larger guest list vs my dress.
My Fiance and I are debating if we cut 5-10 ppl (not family or our absolute closest friends) then I will have enough to get my dress custom made.
I have always been into fashion and the idea of actually having a very important (and probably the most expensive I will ever have) custom designed by myself and the designer would be an amazing experience.
Getting the dress custom made will not cost as much as we initially thought but it is still maybe $500 dollars more then our budget allows.
Is it worth it to just go a LITTLE over board to get a great dress. I know you only wear it once, but I actually like the idea of wearing your wedding dress on your first aniversary and vow renewals (also a good incentive to stay in shape). So maybe I will not just wear it once.
Is cutting a few people worth getting a dream dress that you will not have the oportunity to own again (unless of course you have the oportunity to go to balls and galas were expensive dresses are worn..then I guess you have more oportunity to dress fancy).

Depends on who the people are. If it’s a couple distant friends you hardly talk to, then sure, get the dress of your dreams. If the people are at all important though, I would personally choose people over dress.

I say cut Them to the B list and invite as people decline.

@KingsDaughter: Hi! I’m trying to decide on my dress, I’m also in Toronto, and I’m also a June bride!
If there is nowhere else in the budget to trim the extra $500, then I think it’s reasonable to put some people on the B, C, or D list. Just keep in mind, like bowsergirl says, it depends on the people and how close you are to them.

As long as you didn’t already send them a save the date I say go for it!

@natylka: a little off topic…do you find a lot of pressure from the salons in Toronto telling you it’s almost too late to order a dress and get it altered in time for june? I feel like throwing a soft shoe at them if I hear it one more time lol.
More on topic, if I do not get my dress made I will propably get a sample, only issue is I am tall and slim so finding a sample that will not need to be taken in a dramatic amount is difficult. If you know of any bridal shop that has and sells sample dresses in a variety of sizes please PM me!
