Folic acid works well for me. I keep the bottle at work, and I went on vacation in the beginning of July, I forgot to take it with me, then when I got back I forgot to start taking it again! Just resumed this week. But in the few months I took it my hair definitely grew faster than it normally does. It still isn’t, and won’t be, where I’d prefer it, but it’s better than the short ‘do I’ve been sporting the last 2 years.

@Frazis:  I donated maybe around 14 inches?? It looked liked so much on my head but when she cut it, it didn’t seem that much!

Here’s a photo of what my hair looked like earlier in 2008, when I cut it in Nov. 2008 and what it looks like today. It was so hard to find a photo with all of my hair and the first one as the best I could find. I’m holding my hair down in the current photo cause the ends curled up over night, just past the belly button! I need to get a trim though, I’m just so lazy to get it done.

I take prenatal vitamins and use sulfate-free shampoo/conditioner. That, along with letting my hair air-dry most days, seems to have made it way thicker and shinier.

OMG!! I wonder if it’s too late to start now? lol

My hair is long but not really thick… And I could definitely do with stronger nails. I would love to start but I’m on BCP so that’s kinda… contradictory nutrition I think.

I would love to know what specifically about prenat vits that helps so I could just get that.
